The General Foreman – Welding will lead and manage a mine maintenance team. As a certified Welder, you will use a combination of your technical expertise and leadership skills to provide direction to your shift team leaders. In this role, you will ensure that all maintenance goals and objectives are met by providing sounds direction to field and shop welding maintenance crews.

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent,
Interprovincial Red Seal or CWB ticket
A valid welding certification in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
Languages: IELTS 5 band must, Speak English, Read English, Write English

Security & Safety: Knowledge of all security & safety equipments. Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications;
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding: gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), and resistance welding;
  • Monitor parts usage and report on any material issues;
  • Prepare input for various management and log reports;
  • Review blueprints and specifications; ensure drawings and specifications will function as designed in environment intended for use;
  • Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects;
  • Keep detailed and accurate reports and documentation; and
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance and repair techniques.
