What is an Expression of Interest (EoI)?
An Expression of Interest (EOI) is the first step for candidates interested in Canada Immigration through Express Entry gateway.
The Express Entry is the most popular Canada immigration pathway that ensures permanent residence. Started in 2015 by the federal government of Canada, the Express Entry is an online system that evaluates online applications of candidates interested in Canada Immigration. Candidates are supposed to submit an online application or profile which is also called Expression of Interest (EoI). These online profile or EoI in the Express Entry pool are meant to select candidates for Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Class, Canadian Experience Class as well as Provincial Nomination Program. The EoI are evaluated based on points allocated to candidates on Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scale. The highest scorers (which is usually 470 points) receive Invitation To Apply (ITA) for Canada Permanent Residence (PR). Candidates, who receive ITA must submit detailed application (in the desired format) and pay processing fees in given time frame. The federal government of Canada aims to process complete PR applications in six months for the convenience of eligible candidates.

Each candidate, who has submitted Canada’s Expression of Interest, into Express Entry pool, receives CRS points based on various factors. The benchmark CRS keep changing in every Express Entry draw rounds.

It is important to note that ITA is valid for 60 working days and candidates are supposed to submit required information in specific format in order to complete visa application.

What Information Candidates Need to Submit in Canada’s Expression of Interest?
Eligible candidates should get their applications assessed by reliable immigration consultant before submitting Expression of Interest (EoI). Candidates, who are able to support profile information through documents, should submit EOI in the Express Entry pool. This information include proof of age, education, skill training, information related to spouse, language proficiency, work experience and adaptability. Candidates get CRS points for this set of information and are ranked accordingly during rounds of draw.
Please make a note that Expression of Interest (EoI) simply shows interest of candidates towards Canada Immigration, hence it does not guarantee visa status. Candidates must fulfil all eligibility criteria of immigration process in order to migrate to Canada.
Also, it is important to note that candidates must submit correct information in Expression of Interest (EoI) or online profile. Providing incorrect or misleading information in EoI or online application may result into rejection of application and a ban which would prevent candidates from submitting another online application or Expression of Interest (EoI) for next two years. Therefore, experts suggest that candidates should provide true and accurate information in all sections of EoI. Depending on conditions, the online profile or EoI can be updated or edited.
