Guidance from Trusted Immigration Consultant
Authentic recruitment agencies and immigration consultants can play a great role in supporting candidates to secure LMIA approved jobs, particularly in the domain or industry of candidates’ choice. No doubt, Canadian employers, who fulfil Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) testing standards of the government, rely on trustworthy immigration consultants and hiring agencies to find right candidate for vacant positions. Candidates can get support from such immigration consultants, like Dubai based Key Global Immigration Services and Delhi-NCR based Hire Indians Recruitment Services, to secure LMIA approved jobs from India. Candidates, who secure jobs offered by Canadian employers having a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) are in advantageous positions. LMIA approved jobs are issued based on the requirements of the Canadian economy.
LMIA is a legal permission from Canada’s Ministry of Employment and Social Development Canada to hire foreign skilled worker for a job that has no takers among Canadian citizen or permanent residents.
Networking and Family Connections
Does it sound familiar statement? Experts suggest that one of the easiest pathway to get a job offer from Canadian employers is networking and family connections. Moreover, having a family member or close relative (in blood relation) helps candidates to understand work culture, industries, society, job requirements etc in Canada. In fact, some immigration programs prefer candidates having a family member or relative (blood relation) in specific province in Canada. It is important to note that LMIA approved jobs are more secure pathway compared to having right networking or family connection since LMIA jobs are approved by the government.
Approaching Employers
Candidates, who have good academic records, required IELTS score and relevant work experience, can directly approach Canadian employers. Such companies or employers respond to eligible candidates if they find an ideal candidate in applicant. Moreover, some Canadian employers appreciate candidates, who like to take initiatives and applying through job postings.
Student Visa
Interested candidates can try getting admission in a recognised Canadian university or academic institution since they get preference in job markets in Canada on completion of educational course. This pathway is meant for candidates willing to study education overseas and later qualify for the skilled jobs. Moreover, students pursuing higher studies in Canada are allowed to work for 20 hours a week during the semester. During vacation or break periods like Christmas and summer break, students are allowed to work up to 40 hours per week, provided they are not attending classes during vacation period. International students can plan to work in Canada by approaching local employers or through online resources.
The Canadian government allows international graduates (foreign students) to get post-graduation work permits, provided they complete higher studies in Canada for at least eight months. Candidates graduated from Canadian educational institution or university are allowed to have post-graduation work permit.
Tourist Visa
Also called Temporary Resident visa, it can be converted into Canada work permit, provided applicants fulfil all eligibility criteria. Many Canadian employers, who secured pre-approved positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA), would like to hire foreign skilled workers, who visit Canada as a tourist. Valid for six months, the interested candidates during this period can get support and guidance from trusted immigration consultants to contact Canadian employers having LMIA approved jobs.
It is important to note that Canadian employers having positive LMIA jobs would like to hire only skilled workers having relevant work experience in a particular skill and who are on a payroll of an organisation. These set of documents help employers to have work visa processing on a fast track mode.
The foreign skilled workers are granted Temporary Foreign Worker Work Permit or W1 Worker Visa. Work Permit supported by positive LMIA to tourist visa holders is granted at the Point of Entry (POE) in Canada. The Canadian High Commission issues POE Letter to the eligible candidate. The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) Officer grants Canadian Temporary Work Permit to foreign skilled worker (visiting Canada on a tourist visa) at the Point of Entry in Canada after scanning all relevant documents. For verification, foreign skilled workers must carry Point of Entry Letter along with employment offer letter (if required), copy of LMIA at the POE in Canada. Failing to produce any relevant or legal document can result in cancelation of Work Permit at the Point of Entry (POE) in Canada.
Online Resources
Immigration seekers can also try their luck in getting jobs through online platforms like Job Bank, social media platforms, job posting sites and so on. Job Bank is a trusted source of information on vacancies and job opportunities. However, many Canadian employers do not list vacant positions on Job Bank and rely on hiring right and ideal candidates through LMIA job offer process. It helps them to identify candidates, who meet all eligibility criteria.
